Driving Monitor Director Kevin Curtis Appointed Chairman of the ADLV

Driving Monitor is pleased to announce that its Director, Kevin Curtis, has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Association for Driving Licence Verification (ADLV), the industry association representing organisations involved in driving licence verification.

Kevin officially took up the role on 5th October 2026, having served continuously on the ADLV Board since its formation in 2014. As the Association’s sole remaining founding Board member, he brings more than a decade of experience helping to shape the development of digital driving licence checking in the UK.

Previously serving as the ADLV’s Technical Director, Kevin has worked extensively with the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) and fellow ADLV members to address the technical and operational challenges surrounding commercial access to driving licence data.

His appointment comes as the ADLV prepares for its next phase, with a renewed emphasis on data security, accuracy, digital innovation and improving standards across the industry.

Raising Standards In Driving Licence Verification

One of Kevin’s key priorities as Chairman will be strengthening the standards surrounding access to sensitive driver information.

With businesses increasingly relying on digital licence checking to manage driver compliance and road safety, Kevin believes the industry must continue challenging itself to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place.

Commenting on his appointment, Kevin said:

“It’s a real privilege to have been elected Chairman of the ADLV, particularly having been involved with the Association since we first formed back in 2014.

“A lot has changed in those 12 years. The way businesses access and use driver data has evolved considerably, technology has moved forward and expectations around data security and compliance are quite rightly much higher.”

For Kevin, ensuring robust driver identity verification, consent processes and responsible handling of personal data will be central to the Association’s future work.

Working With The DVLA To Improve Services

Another priority will be strengthening the ADLV’s role as a collective voice for its members, particularly when addressing the accuracy, timeliness and reliability of DVLA data.

Kevin wants the Association to build upon its constructive relationship with the DVLA, while ensuring members can raise concerns and work collaboratively towards practical improvements.

He is also keen to explore opportunities to modernise existing processes, including foreign driving licence checking, where paper-based and manual systems could potentially be replaced with secure digital alternatives.

As Kevin explained:

“Our members and their customers make important compliance and road-safety decisions using DVLA data, so the accuracy, timeliness and integrity of that data really matters.”

Looking Ahead With Driving Monitor

Alongside these priorities, Kevin intends to encourage greater involvement from ADLV members through dedicated working groups and a clearer programme of measurable objectives.

His ambition is for ADLV membership to represent consistently high standards and a shared commitment to responsible data handling, compliance and road safety.

Kevin’s appointment reflects his longstanding involvement in the driving licence verification industry and his commitment to improving the systems businesses depend upon to manage their drivers responsibly.

At Driving Monitor, the team looks forward to supporting Kevin as he takes on this important industry role and helping to drive continued improvements in driver compliance and road safety across the UK.
