You paid how much for parking?!

You drive into the city, find a parking space, get out, only to find out it’ll cost you a princely $1.3 million.
Sorry, what?!
Well, that’s exactly what one parking space sold for in Hong Kong.
Incredibly, the spot in one of Hong Kong’s most expensive areas, The Heights, went for a sum more expensive than 99% of the cars on the road!
Left with the choice, would you spend the money to bag this highly sought-after parking space?
Nope, us neither.
We’d probably spend the money on a Lamborghini, pocket the difference and simply pay for parking in the usual way.

We know that all prices are affected by supply and demand, but this must be one of the most extreme cases of short supply and incredibly high demand.
The problem here is the supply is never going to increase, but the demand is only going one way in one of the busiest and most affluent areas in Hong Kong.
Wonder what it’ll cost in 5 years – could we be looking at a $5 million parking spot?!
We’ve been trying to think what the most we’ve ever paid for parking is… Must be the long-stay car park at the airport.
But what’s the most you’ve ever paid for parking? We suspect it’s not $1.3 million…
