A High-Octane… Wedding?

A High-Octane… Wedding?

Some things go together seamlessly – fish and chips, Ant and Dec, pumpkins and Halloween.

But others are a less conventional marriage.

And in this case, it’s literally a marriage in an incredibly unconventional location AND situation.

Because a couple got married at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway in a 10-second pitstop at a recent NASCAR event.

Yep, they’ve gone through the checklist and decided that alongside the cake, the speeches, flower arrangements and making sure your Aunt Linda gets there, doing it as a pitstop at a motor racing event is a must-do.

Let’s face it, wedding planning is not for the faint-hearted.

There’s more to organise than anyone would ever think… and in a way, doing it in front of tens of thousands at an outdoor motor racing event takes away a lot of the thought process.

Well, other than the noise, speed, limited time and logistics of it all.

The US has long been known for its unusual weddings (I’m thinking specifically of Elvis impersonators in Las Vegas) and I’ve heard of all sorts… but this one takes the biscuit.

There is something incredibly efficient about it all but it’s definitely not an idea I’d be pitching at your partner unless they were car-obsessed.

There’s definitely not many other ways you can share your wedding with 80,000 guests without a ludicrous catering bill, anyway.
