Can Fleet Safety On The Road Improve With New Risk Framework?
One of the biggest challenges in fleet safety is that by the time a collision happens, the damage is already done.
That might sound obvious, but it’s why managing risk is such an important factor for fleets all over the country.
And it’s why newly published framework from the Parliamentary Advisory Council for Transport Safety (PACTS) is interesting reading for anyone responsible for managing drivers, vehicles and risk.
Rather than focusing purely on “lagging indicators” like collisions, claims and injuries, the framework encourages fleets to take a more proactive approach by monitoring the factors that often lead to incidents in the first place.

Some of the biggest risk factors for fleets are things that are manageable, such as driver behaviour, vehicle maintenance and calculations on mileage, working hours and journey.
The idea is that if you can spot patterns and warning signs early enough, you can act before they turn into a bigger issue.
It’s something we’re acutely aware of at Driving Monitor and we understand that improving fleet safety isn’t just about reacting to what’s already happened. It’s about identifying risk early, supporting drivers properly, and creating a culture of continuous improvement.
With more traffic on the roads than ever before, Telematics Monitor, Risk Monitor and Fleet Monitor have never been more relevant, giving you and your fleet the full picture so you can mitigate your risk.
