En route to a party… in a horsebox?

A black-tie event is a great excuse to get dressed up, have a few drinks, and celebrate.

And at this time of year, there are plenty of award ceremonies, Christmas parties, and all sorts of events.

But as the roads get busier in December, being safe on the roads should be more important than ever…

Which is why the news that 20 partygoers were found travelling to a black-tie event in a horsebox is staggering.

When police pulled over the vehicle, they were informed that there was no livestock in the horsebox.

As they headed over to investigate, they discovered 20 people bunched together inside, all dressed up and ready to head to an event.

Now, while the story might be incredibly unusual, there is also a serious side to this.

Because road safety is incredibly important and dangerous acts like this, while they might seem amusing at first glance, pose a risk not only to those involved but to other road users too.

And for those that regularly use roads as part of their business, like fleet owners, it’s an unwanted additional risk for their drivers.

Given that it’s such an unusual incident, the police wanted to highlight it to discourage others from similar attempts…

Which is a good thing because it’s one of the oddest stories I’ve come across in a while!
