Training Monitor, bespoke driver training interventions

Now you can easily identify driver training needs, and deliver bespoke driver training to just the drivers that need it

Training Monitor allows you to easily identify your employees who need some further driver training in order to reduce their risk whilst driving on company business. You'll get access to simple yet powerful manager web dashboards giving you a complete birds-eye-view of any driver training requirements for each driver.     It's important to adopt a system that can 'combine' all of these separate data sets into one central report for an accurate training profile. Try to avoid having lots of separate systems to manage assessments, training, DVLA licence data, vehicle & accident data etc.

Training alerts

  • Instant email/SMS alerts
The Training Monitor module links automatically to the Task Monitor module, giving you access to all the rich features of the Tasks & Alerts already built in.
  • Alerts on all risk assessment data
Ability to setup bespoke alerts on all parameters such as outstanding training and specific areas of weakness (i.e. hazard perception) and gives you an instant view of a driver risk profile
  • Alert future scheduling
Our system can also schedule alerts to be triggered at the correct future dates down the line. This means a driver can receive an alert 4 weeks before their refresher training is due or a manager could receive an alert if a training module was X weeks overdue (i.e. for compliance monitoring).
  • Total flexibility
The Task Monitor module has been continually developed since 2002 and has been built on a flexible platform. This means the system can be configured to suit your company structure and management hierarchy. Your specific settings can be modified to ensure the right people in your business are alerted to the key pieces of information at the 'right time'.
  • Configure alerts at different levels
Department managers can receive alerts just about drivers within their department, but our alerts system is powerful enough to have alerts setup at branch and company level, so issues can escalate up through the  management hierarchy. Managers can be setup at all levels allows your organisation to control access views

Powerful reports

Our training modules can help, you reduce the risk across your fleet of drivers. The powerful reporting tools allow you to spot trends and setup bespoke alerts.

Drivers with outstanding training 39%
Number of drivers needing Hazard Perception training 63%
Percentage of drivers needing on-road training 8%

  • Instant reports available online
The Training Monitor manager dashboards update in real-time allowing you to view data as soon as drivers have entered it. Reports are built on-the-fly and can be run via the secure web portal or via the automated reporting service.
  • Scheduled reports
The system can be configured to send out scheduled reports at your preferred frequency (every day/week/month etc), and these can be set up to be sent automatically to you managers within the business to update on progress.
  • Report future scheduling
If reports are configured to be scheduled for repeat patterns the system automatically updates the status of risk levels and flags any potential problems when key dates/events are triggered - showing an exception on the dynamic report.
  • Configure reports at different levels
Divisional managers can receive reports just about drivers within their division, but our reports system is powerful enough to have reports setup at branch and company level, so issues can escalate up through the  management hierarchy. Managers can be setup at all levels allows your organisation to control access views

Unique live risk levels

  • Increase visibility and updates
Instanct access to the driver risk profile gives managers an up-to-date view as it happens. So if an event comes in to the system (such as a completed driver training session or a new eLearning trigger) the driver's risk profile is instantly updated.
  • Seamlessly integrates with your own training
If we are integrating your own internal training your driver risk profile can be updated daily from the real-time data being fed from your records. So if a driver has completed some training the Risk Monitor tool updates accordingly and can alert drivers/managers with a new risk level with any risk reductions.
  • Get results fast
Within seconds of a driver completing their training our system updates giving you a full report - along with the certificate of completion by the driver.
  • Bespoke interventions based on risk
Our system uniquely targets the area of weakness that the risk assessment exposes. So if a driver shows a weakness in hazard perception or the road traffic laws for example they are given bespoke eLearning or potential practical training based on their risk level and areas of weakness.

Full data security

  • No 3rd party involved in data processing
It's important you check when looking at digital risk assessment services that your potential supplier is not 'outsourcing' their web platform to a 3rd party. Also ensure if you are being sold an integrated service that this is not coming from another provider in the background as this will add to the number of parties in the chain accessing your employee data. The best option is to deal with a total solution direct supplier such as DrivingMonitor.
  • Ensuring the right levels of data protection
As employees and businesses become more conscious of Data Protection it's important that you partner with a company that solely handles the data in a secure data centre, and that they are ISO27001 registered.
  • Unprecedented Data Security
Utilising our secure 'dedicated' servers, your data is managed with the highest levels of security. We operate to ISO 9001 & ISO 27001 levels of data security and we're also registered under the DPA with the Information Commissioner.

Isn't it expensive to train all my employees?

It could be. But with the targeted system within Training Monitor you don't need to train all employees who drive for work. DrivingMonitor have developed a unique system to target the individual so only the employees who need some intervention are actually given training. Be careful to avoid driver training companies who would advise you to train all drivers with on-road driver training as this can become very expensive.

When an employee is assessed by the DrivingMonitor programme:

  • Their risk level is established and any areas of weakness are identified
  • Depending on the driver's risk level/weaknesses bespoke eLearning/practical training is deployed to the dashboard allowing the employee to begin their training
  • Once their training is complete a portion of their risk is mitigated to reduce their risk level

Because the DrivingMonitor system has been running since 2002 we have built a robust platform to ensure the correct training is deployed that focusses on each individual employee's area of weakness. We don't believe in a one-size fits-all approach so we ensure only the specific individuals who need training are given the exact module needed to improve their skills. This means your budget is focussed on targeted individuals and not wasted right across the entire employee base, and Medium/High risk drivers are trained to reduce risk levels.

'Bespoke' training designed to mitigate risk

An example of a training policy based on risk levels:

    • Low risk drivers = simply monitored moving forwards
    • Medium risk drivers = online eLearning based on areas of weakness
    • High risk drivers = combination of eLearning and/or classroom workshop/webinar/on-road driver training

All training given is shown in the manager dashboards allowing you to see the reports and risk reduction areas against each driver along with certificates for completing the training.

Should I use a stand alone training or an integrated service?

You could start by attempting to train all employees or devise your own internal method for identifying which employees need training but this could prove very costly and you wouldn't have an audit trail linking the training to any risk assessments. It’s important to consider the whole driver risk management life-cycle when deciding on a training strategy. Only by cross-referencing the data gathered by risk assessments with the actual completed training records can you fully cover the company duty-of-care obligations (HSE's guidelines) which are:

See why companies choose an integrated training service...

Don't be fooled by a veneer

When researching suppliers for training solutions - ensure you get a 'full' demo of the system & services and ask questions such as:

      • Is this system fully integrated with the online risk tool or do you use a 3rd party for training?
      • Are you the main developers of the eLearning system or have you simply white-labelled a 3rd party supplier solution and if so who actually holds the data?
      • Does the completed training data link with the risk assessment, accident, licence and vehicle data?
      • Will I see genuine risk reductions as a result of any training? Can I see a demo of this?
      • Can I see management dashboards with real-time data?
      • Is this system flexible/extendable (i.e. are you in control of bespoke development/adaptations and can we grow with you?)

We implemented the DrivingMonitor training modules after we looked on the market for a service where the training was identified as a result of a risk assessment. It was important that we found a tool that could deliver training not only based on annual assessments, but also on key feeds such as DVLA data, our own Telematics data and also from our accident management providers data feed. The DrivingMonitor system pulls all of this together and ensures the right drivers receive the correct training based on real-world trigger points. We're now reducing our accident rates based on this targeted approach and we're confident we're covering our duty of care based on this model.
