Police chase thief proves why criminals aren’t ready for EVs just yet

Electric vehicles might be a hot topic at the moment, but there’s one man in Los Angeles who certainly won’t be making the switch any time soon.

Afraid we don’t know his name, don’t really know anything about him in fact.

Other than that he’s got some nerve.

The man in question was involved in a police car chase after he got interrupted during a robbery.

And when this guy ran out of fuel halfway through the chase, he didn’t do what most criminals tend to, and ditch the vehicle to make a run for it…

If you’ve just watched the video, you’re probably experiencing a strange mingling of feelings right now.

We know the guy’s a criminal, and yet we're oddly impressed by him.

Don’t misunderstand us, we obviously heartily disapprove of thievery and running from the police. But to have the confidence to actually stop and get fuel halfway through the chase?! That’s quite something.

Apparently he even got the cash discount.

Good thing for him that he wasn’t driving an electric car or he could have been there all day. But with his fresh tank of gas, he was able to continue his getaway through several areas of outer Los Angeles.

It’s unclear whether the man was caught in the end, but I expect this experience has made the LA police force even keener to see more EVs on the road!
